We are seeking an experienced General Sales Manager who loves the business and is energized
by leading and mentoring a team of sales professionals.  GSM will lead a large team of Sales Representatives and several Desk Managers.  The GSM we are seeking will be tasked with bringing  sales up to their historical levels which means 20 extra sales per month.  Our expectations for your first 90 days will be: First 30 days will be getting familiar with the staff, our policies and procedures. Next 30 days assessing and looking for areas to improve. The next 30 days will be implementing and monitoring your improvements.    
 
Responsibilities:
  • Improve sales for an underperforming  busy import dealership
  • hire, train, develop and lead a winning sales team
  • own the responsibility for producing a terrific customer experience for every customer
  • monitor the effectiveness and success of the sales staff, holding them accountable for their performance
  • lead sales meetings for the sales personnel and for sales management staff

We are looking for a coach – mentor – trainer type of leader. Duties will include:
Daily
  • daily one on ones with salespeople where needed
  • daily meeting with Desking Managers
  • review of "deals worked but not closed" with sales staff
  • ensure proper follow up with all non-buyers
  • proper response time on internet leads
Weekly
  • define, implement and manage a 30, 60, 90 day salesperson follow-up process for unsold customers
Monthly
  • set 10 day, 20 day and monthly unit and sales goals for individual salespeople
  • game plan with salespeople
  • ensure salespeople's completion of all training

Ability to commute to city 45 north of Boston-area daily is required.  
Automotive sales management experience is needed , passion, integrity and high  energy level are additional requirements!
Valid driver’s license, background and drug screen
